Terms of Service

1) Definitions

“Terms of Service” refers to this document in its entirety.

“Mr. C Physics” refers to the business owned by Mr. Russell Cameron.

“Website” refers to the web page, www.mrcphysics.com, and extensions to this domain.

“Service(s)” refers to any tuition, classes, or other services provided by Mr. Russell Cameron as part of Mr. C Physics.

“Client(s)” refers to any person purchasing a Service, for themselves or a third party, such as a child/ward.

“Booking(s)” refer to the specific purchase of a service through the Website.

“Booking Platform” refers to the service provided by Acuity Scheduling, found on the Website, which allows clients to make Bookings.

“Tuition” refers to any one-on-one class provided by Mr. Russell Cameron, including support with Science, Physics or general mentorship.

“Small-group Class(es)” refers to regular, often weekly, sessions of no more than five students, that are typically booked in a block of four or five lessons, depending on the month.

“Session(s)” refers to any specific pre-booked tuition, class, or other services provided by Mr. Russell Cameron, most commonly via Zoom, as part of Mr. C Physics.

“Student(s)” refers to any persons attending a Session.

“No-show” refers to a student not being present at a Session within 10 minutes of the original start time.

“Resource(s)” refers to digital products made by Mr. Russell Cameron, which are available for purchase through the Website.

2) Acceptance of terms.

a) By accessing this website, placing a Booking, or purchasing a Resource, you agree to the Terms of Service and the privacy policy. You will be asked to confirm your acceptance upon Booking any of the Services provided.

b) This Website is hosted by Squarespace and the Booking platform provided by Acuity Scheduling for Squarespace. By agreeing to my Terms of Service, you are also agreeing to theirs. I recommend you check it out at: https://www.squarespace.com/terms-of-service

3) Eligibility

You must be aged 16 or older to purchase any of the resources or to book any of the services provided. If you are under 16, your parent/guardian must be physically present with you to make the purchase or place the Booking. The bill payer, whether you or a parent/guardian, must agree to the Terms of Service, and give express permission for any Resources or Services to be purchased. The Resources and Services are offered only for your use, and not for the use or benefit of any third party. If you place a Booking on behalf of a third party, including a child/ward you represent, you warrant that you have full authority to bind that third party to these Terms of Service.

4) Payments and Billing

a) Payments must be made in full at the time of Booking. There are no incremental payment methods available; the pricing and class schedule set out on the website provides support at a range of prices and time commitments. Bookings can only be made over 24 hours in advance of the start time of the session.

b) No-shows are when a Student is not present within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time of a Session. In the case of Tuition, the Session is cancelled without refunding or rescheduling. If you know a Student will be late to a Session, contact must be made via the contact form prior to the initial start time of the session in order to avoid a No-Show. Small-group Classes will continue to run for other Students, allowing late Students to join for the remaining time of that Session, but they will not be able to make up previous time lost.

c) Bookings are final, with no refunds available. Bookings can be rescheduled over 48 hours prior to the original start time of the session, as per the conditions below:

i) Services provided as Tuition or other one-off classes, including the ‘Saturday BGCSE Physics Clinic’ can be rescheduled up to 48 hours prior to the start time of the session directly through the booking platform. Attempted rescheduling of any Tuition or other one-off classes by any method other than the Booking Platform, such as those by email, chatbox or through the contact page of the website, is not accepted. Customers will be referred to the Booking Platform to confirm their rescheduling.

ii) Within 48 hours of the original start time of the session, there is no cancellation or rescheduling of any Tuition or other one-off classes. This includes No-shows.

iii) Services provided in multiple sessions, such as Small-group Classes, including all weekday BJC and BGCSE classes, can be cancelled up to 48 hours prior to the start time of the first session only. No refund is available, but a special coupon will be created for the equivalent value for a future set of Small-group Classes. In this scenario, cancel (rather than reschedule) through the booking platform and complete a contact form.

iv) Within 48 hours of the original start time of the first session, there is no cancellation or rescheduling of any Small-group Classes. This includes No-shows.

d) Discretion may be applied to the above section of the Terms of Service (4b and 4c), in exceptional circumstances e.g. family bereavement, upon the decision of Mr. Russell Cameron.

e) Mr. C has an exceptional attendance record; in nine years, on the only day of sick-leave he ever needed, he still held online classes from home! However, it is not impossible that unforeseen circumstances result in Mr. Russell Cameron being unable to host a Session. In this circumstance, the Clients affected will be informed by email at the earliest opportunity. The Session will be rescheduled for a day and time that suits all of the Students who were due to attend the Session.

f) If, for any reason, Mr. Russell Cameron is up to 10 minutes late to a Session, the time will be made up at the end of the Session. If Mr. Russell Cameron is more than 10 minutes late to a Session, without prior notice given to the Clients, you will receive an equivalent session free of charge by means of a coupon code, along with the remaining time in the original Session.

g) Upon placing a booking, you should receive an automated email confirmation. Within 48 hours, you should also receive a receipt provided for your reference and to assist with meeting tax obligations. If you do not receive an email confirmation or a receipt for your booking, please contact us immediately.

5) Conduct in classes

a) Mr. Russell Cameron, sometimes referred to as ‘Mr. C’, is the sole educator providing Sessions on behalf of Mr. C Physics. He prefers students to refer to him as ‘Mr. Cameron’ or ‘Mr. C‘ during Sessions.

b) Mr. Russell Cameron has been trained in child safe-guarding as part of his previous teaching posts. Child safe-guarding is the highest priority of Mr. C Physics, and any potential issues will be taken very seriously. This means that any comments or disclosures from Students during classes may be passed on to parents/guardians, if there is any possibility that it would be deemed necessary by Mr. Russell Cameron.

c) Students will be treated fairly and with respect in classes, and it is expected that they too show respect to Mr. Russell Cameron and other Students. In light of this, any incidents of disrespectful, inappropriate or disruptive behaviour will be reported to the parent/guardian of the Student concerned. If a further incident occurs with the same Student, whether in the same Session or a future Session, they will be immediately removed from the Session with no refund provided, and the parent/guardian informed. Any third infringement from the same Student, whether in the same Session or a future Session, will result in them being immediately removed from the Session with no refund provided, and permanently banned from attending Sessions with Mr. C Physics.

d) Students are expected to enter their Session on time. They must ensure their Zoom name is clear and matches the name given at the time of Booking; Students will not be allowed into the virtual classroom without their name matching that of the Student name on the Booking form. Students should not leave the Zoom Session until dismissed.

e) Cameras are expected to be on at all times during Sessions, in order to maximise engagement and allow the teaching practice to be adapted as necessary. Backgrounds, such as blurs or images, may be used provided they are deemed appropriate by Mr. Russell Cameron. Any technical issues should be reported by the Student, and will be followed up by an email to the parent/guardian after the Session.

f) Students must have a working microphone in order to fully engage in the Sessions. This should typically be on mute, unless the Student is speaking. Any technical issues should be reported by the Student, and will be followed up by an email to the parent/guardian after the Session.

g) I am here to serve you. Students will get the most out of the Sessions if they are attentive, engage in conversation with Mr. C, and ask questions if they are unsure of anything, whether related to the content or a technical issue. ‘The only stupid question is the one you do not ask’. It is polite to put your ‘virtual hand’ up if you have a question, and Students will be encouraged to do so during Sessions.

6) Resources

a) Resources available through the Website are solely the work of Mr. Russell Cameron. He alone retains all distribution rights to the materials provided.

b) Purchasing a Resource through the website, or receiving it for free as part of a Session, gives the Student and/or Client rights for personal use.

c)Purchasing a Resource through the website, or receiving it for free as part of a Session, does NOT give the Student and/or Client the right to create further copies, whether physical or digital.

d) Purchasing a Resource through the website, or receiving it for free as part of a Session, does NOT give the Student and/or Client the right to share with other parties. Mr. C Physics is my primary source of income and these resources are a product of my time commitment. Please respect my work by not sharing it with others.
